Metrokane V-1 Decanter World's First Vacuum Decanter Includes Wine Funnel with Strainer
Pouring a bottle of red wine into a decanter before serving aerates it and improves its character by allowing it to “breathe.” Until now, wine left in the decanter had to be funneled back into the bottle to prevent spoilage. Now, with the V-1 Vacuum Decanter, you can have the advantages of decanting red wine with no disadvantages. You can vacuum-preserve the wine right in the decanter.
The Metrokane V-1 Decanter, designed by Ed Kilduff of Pollen Design, was inspired by the Apollo Spaceship. Each decanter is individually hand-blown of the finest lead-free crystalline quartz. The Vacuum Stopper will hold the vacuum for days, and your wine will be preserved for the next serving.

Consumer Review: Getting a lot of use from this product.
Pros: quality product., enough capacity to hold a magnum.
Cons: it's heavy., doesn't always pour cleanly.
"We've been using this for about a year now. It makes cheap wine taste better! I love the way the funnel disperses the wine down the sides of the decanter. I had trouble getting the pump to work at first. There's a small post in the top that acts as a release when the air is pumped out. You need to pull that up or push it down, I cannot remember, before you can pump the air out. I don't recall seeing any documentation indicating how to operate that valve correctly. I do remember having trouble with the pump the second time we used, because it was set right the first time we used it. This is heavy, and because the weight is mainly at the bottom, it can be unwieldy to pour. Also there isn't a pour spout so occasionally a little wine drips down the outside."

It also looks good. Very nice kitchen or bar decoration.
